Swayable's James Slezak hosted a talk, “Using AI to persuade ethically”, at Web Summit Rio with the Financial Times' Cristina Criddle. James and Cristina explored how leaders in technology, marketing and campaigning are navigating the first steps into this new world of AI, and what it means to persuade at scale, ethically.
As James put it, “When we first started building Swayable, the lore from Silicon Valley was to take money from whoever will give it to you, and have an agonistic approach to who can use the technology. A company has to articulate why it exists, it’s not just to make as much money for shareholders as possible, it’s gotta have some real societal purpose.”
